Welcome to Pump Hill Barn
Pump Hill Barn is a charming 19th Century holiday cottage in the heart of the historic village of Aberford, near Wetherby, Yorkshire. The stone built barn, which is next door to the owners' cottage, is newly converted. It has been carefully renovated, keeping original features such as the arrow slit windows and oak beams. It is ideally located just off the A1 approximately half way between Leeds (about 8 miles) and York (about 13 miles). It sleeps 4 people (+2).
The Barn is just 60 yards away from the village green, a small village shop and the nearest pub. There are two other pubs, one of which was a 16th Century Coaching Inn and is now best known for its extensive menu. There’s also a children's playground 100 yards away.
The excellent road network around Aberford allows easy access to York, Leeds and Harrogate as well as to other areas - the Yorkshire Moors, the Dales and the coast. Whether you are interested in visiting historic houses, going to the museums or birdwatching you will be spoilt for choice for things to do and see. Castle Howard, Harewood House, Fountains Abbey, The National Railway Museum, Fairburn Ings Nature Reserve etc are all within easy driving distance. There are also plenty of footpaths and bridleways in and around Aberford, making it popular with walkers and ramblers.
